ANNOUNCING POSTER CONTEST UPDATE

 

Mental Health Poster Contest

Theme: “Set Sail with Good Mental Health”

Greater Columbia Behavioral Health (GCBH) is one of 12 Regional Support Networks (RSNs) in Washington State. RSNs manage the publicly-funded mental health system through a group of Community Mental Health Agencies (CMHA’s). The GCBH Provider Network covers Asotin, Benton, Columbia, Franklin, Garfield, Kittitas, Klickitat, Skamania, Walla Walla, Whitman and Yakima Counties, along with the Yakama Nation.

GCBH will be hosting a poster contest in honor of Mental Health Month in May. This year’s theme is “Set Sail with Good Mental Health”. “We cannot direct the winds-but we can adjust our sails!” Participants are encouraged to submit a drawing or painting expressing their interpretation of the theme. The winning drawing/painting will be printed as a poster and distributed throughout our eleven counties.

Prizes:

GCBH will be awarding prizes and copies of the Winning Poster at the our Open House for Mental Health Month in May 2009.

Who is eligible to enter:

Current and former clients of the GCBH Public Mental Health Provider Network in our eleven counties.

Specifications for all entries:

         Posters must be on 11 x 17 paper

         May be painting or drawing, suitable for a poster

         Must be all original work (no magazine or copyrighted material)

         Must be unframed and un-mounted

         Must have name, address and phone number on back

         Must be received by February 20, 2009

         Must be able to be reproduced

         Must be accompanied by a completed and signed poster contest entry form
(attached) that gives GCBH permission to reproduce and distribute the
work in poster form

         More than 1 entry accepted (each entry must have a completed and signed
entry form)

WRAP Meetings

WRAP Meetings will officially begin during the month of January.  They are scheduled to be held each Tuesday 5:30-6:30pm at the First Baptist Church in Richland.  Call Roy Hogan for more information at 737-2834.

Local Meetings

  • Bipolar Depression Support Group is held the First Christian Church in Pasco, 1524 W Marie St. at 6:00pm on Thursdays. Call Rick at 845-7993 for more information.
  • DRA meets each Friday, 6-8:00 pm in the Carondolet Room at Lourdes Medical Ctr, in Pasco.
  • NAMI Board Meetings are held at 2 pm on the 3rd Tuesday of each month in Uptown Richland at the Creative Travel Office.
