2009 NATIONAL NAMI CONVENTION
July 6-9 San Francisco California
Register by March 1, 2009 and receive the special Super Saver rate of $195!
If you’ve never attended a NAMI National Convention you don’t know what you’re missing. Just read what some of last year’s attendees had to say about their convention experience:
“When I see and hear about the absolutely incredible things that have been accomplished by consumers and family advocates around the country, I leave here inspired to keep up the good fight!”
“My first NAMI Convention was incredible! I truly felt empowered and optimistic about research developments. It was amazing to have so many people in one place who are all dealing with the treatment of mental illness. There is strength in numbers.”
“The opportunities to learn the latest information, to hear of other strategies, and to realize the scope of support available to families have been invaluable. We have been energized and recommitted to the cause.”

Kuntz’s stepbrother, Chris Dana, returned home from Iraq, and while suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), died from suicide. Kuntz subse-quently led the effort in Montana that resulted in a program to check members of the state National Guard for signs of PTSD every six months for the first two years after return from combat, and then once a year thereafter.
“I’m really touched and honored that President-elect Obama remembered our efforts to care for our injured service members and their families,” said Kuntz. “This recognition is a major testament to all of the Montanans that demanded better care for our heroes and to our governor and the National Guard leadership that have carried out that mandate.”
